Our Winter Concert is December 13 at the University of Redlands. We are rehearsing every day! Our 4th grade students will be performing with their 5th grade buddies to “Jingle Bell Rock”! Everyone will sing “Silent Night” and “Let There Be Peace on Earth”. Students need to dress for a concert in a beautiful chapel! I advised the girls about appropriate dress length as we sit on steps at the top of the stage after we sing! I personally wear black dress pants and avoid dresses here! It is very difficult to sit on the steps in a dress.
We are planning a small holiday party on December 19. Fruit, rolls, juice, and milk will be the menu. There will be a gift exchange between students. Gifts should not be purchased. Students have 3 gift options:
1.) A “gently used” item, such as a book or game.
2.) A “spending time together” gift, such as a “play date”, a game of chess, or a basketball game. Many things to choose from!
3.) A “made just for you” gift, such a book mark, pencil holder, or even a sweet treat like cookies!
The key is the gift is not “store bought”. There are many gifts to be given that require no money! The other key is secrecy. The names must be kept a secret until the exchange on December 19. Names were drawn Monday, December 9.. Let me know if you have questions.
The Student Council Food Drive continues! We are also in need of items to donate to the animal shelter. The “wish list” is below under “Files”. Students will receive $5.00 per item donated to either cause!
The December Awards Assembly is Friday, December 13 at 8:00 AM in the multipurpose room! Families will be notified by Monday, December 9 for students receiving awards.
Students need 15 AR points and 15 AM objectives by Friday, December 13. Please check Renaissance Home Connect to monitor student progress.
Have a great week!
